  1. 2022 HBCU/MSI Research Summit

The VT Community Registration Form is open for the 2022 HBCU/MSI Research Summit. This year’s research summit is scheduled for November 6-8 at The Inn at Virginia Tech.   1. Global Zone- Understanding the International Student Experience

Cranwell International Center has developed a TLOS training about understanding the international student experience. The training will be held on November 3rd from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Graduate Coordinators, Graduate Program Directors, Faculty, and Staff are encouraged to attend. Every year, The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans (PD Soros) support thirty New Americans— immigrants or the children of immigrants—who are pursuing graduate or professional school in the United States.   1. Call for Nominations for Graduate Alumni Achievement Award

Deadline: Friday, October 28, 2022

The Graduate School invites nominations for the Graduate Alumni Achievement Award to recognize outstanding national and/or international achievement and exemplary contributions of graduate alumni to their profession, discipline, community or society. Nominees’ professional activities and history must reflect positively on the reputation of Virginia Tech to a national and/or international audience. Only alumni who have obtained a graduate degree from Virginia Tech are eligible. Submission deadline is October 28, 2022.   1. VT Slate Users Google Drive

The Graduate School has been receiving access requests from applicants to the VT Slate Users Google Drive. Please note that the materials in the drive are for internal use only and should not be shared with applicants or other parties external to Virginia Tech.  

 

  1. 2022-2023 Graduate Student and Outstanding Mentor Awards

Faculty and/or academic departments and programs may submit nominations for outstanding theses and dissertations; excellence in teaching or service; graduate student of the year; and outstanding interdisciplinary students. These nominations are due by January 20, 2023. In addition to these nominations, each college defines its own nomination criteria and selection process for identifying one outstanding master’s and doctoral student and outstanding mentor per college — notification of these winners are due by February 10. All winners will be recognized by the Graduate School during Graduate Education Week 2023, March 27-31.
