  1. Graduate School Funded Fellowship Nominations

Nominations for Graduate School Fellowships are now being accepted for the 2023-2024 academic year. For eligibility, nomination information, and deadlines, please visit each opportunity listed on the Funding Sponsored by the Graduate School page: https://graduateschool.vt.edu/funding/types-of-funding/funding-sponsored-by-the-graduate-school.html. Please note that, as of the spring 2023 graduate admissions cycle, the Cunningham Fellowship has been revamped to be a supplement to departmental funding, meant to enhance the appeal for the very best candidates. This restructuring will broaden the impact to many more students. We will be piloting the new structure this year, and the detailed procedure is the result of valuable feedback from Graduate Program Directors.

Applications are currently being accepted for the Dean’s Diversity Assistantship program. Applications are currently being accepted for the Ronald E. McNair Graduate Assistantship program.   1. A Reminder about the Graduate Schools’ Updated Forms

Please check the links to Graduate forms on your department webpages. The Graduate School updated all its forms in summer 2022 and created a new forms page: https://graduateschool.vt.edu/forms.html that is easier to navigate and includes information about each form. If you link to Graduate forms, you may want to link to the Forms page instead of individual forms. If you choose to link to individual forms, please use the URL you will find for that form on the Forms webpage. The Graduate School is deleting all of the old forms to avoid confusion. If you have questions, please reach out to Cathy Grimes (cathg14@vt.edu).

  1. Virginia Space Grant Consortium Graduate Fellowships

The Virginia Space Grant Consortium (VSGC) is accepting applications to its 2023-2024 VSGC Scholarship and Fellowship program. Major goals of the VSGC are to help produce the engineers and scientists of the future and to diversify the STEM workforce. The Graduate Research STEM Fellowship Program provides fellowships of $6,000 to graduate students to supplement and enhance basic research support. Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a program of study in STEM and have a specific faculty-mentored research project that has NASA or aerospace relevance.
