1. GRE Waiver Information Request (Applications for Spring 2022 and Fall 2022)
The Office of Recruitment, Diversity, and Inclusion is completing a comprehensive list of programs that are waiving the GRE for the upcoming application season. 1. Nominations Accepted for Graduate Student and Outstanding Mentor Awards
The Graduate School is accepting nominations for graduate student awards. Faculty and/or academic departments and programs may submit nominations for outstanding theses and dissertations; excellence in teaching or service; graduate student of the year; and outstanding disciplinary students. In addition to these nominations, each college defines its own nomination criteria and selection process for identifying one outstanding master’s and doctoral student and outstanding mentor per college to be recognized by the Graduate School during Graduate Education Week 2022. 2. Fall 2021 Graduate School Commencement Ceremony
The fall 2021 Graduate School commencement ceremony is scheduled to be held in-person on Friday, December 17th at 2:30pm in Cassell Coliseum. All graduates wanting to participate should complete the Commencement Intentions form through their HokieSPA degree menu no later than December 1st. Doctoral students wanting to participate must meet the participation deadlines listed at https://graduateschool.vt.edu/academics/what-you-need-to-graduate/deadlines-for-academic-progress.html. There is no limit to the number of guests a graduate may invite to attend and the Graduate School ceremony will be live streamed on the University website as well. Additional information on the fall ceremony can be found online at https://vt.edu/commencement.html. Questions may be directed to Graduate Admissions and Academic Progress staff at grads@vt.edu.

3. ICTAS Doctoral Scholars Program
The ICTAS Doctoral Scholars Program honors exceptional Ph.D. candidates interested in interdisciplinary research with a competitive graduate fellowship. The program is led by ICTAS, with significant contributions from the Graduate School and each scholar’s college, as well as their department and/or faculty advisor.  The program supports up to 40 students, housed in COE, COS, CALS, CVM, and CNRE; 10 new fellowships are awarded yearly.  The 2021-2022 ICTAS Doctoral Scholar Announcement and Call for Nominations is located in this link.
