1. Diversity Scholars Program
Diversity scholars are graduate students who specialize in and advocate for the awareness, knowledge, and skills associated with diversity and inclusion in the Graduate School and greater community. Nominations are due by December 8th and applications are due by December 15th. Find out more at https://graduateschool.vt.edu/about/diversity/diversity-scholars.html and consider nominating a student! Please email ORDI@vt.edu if you have any questions.

2. Final Reminder: GRE Waiver Information Request
The Office of Recruitment, Diversity, and Inclusion is completing a comprehensive list of programs that are waiving the GRE for the coming application season. Please let us know by completing this brief survey https://forms.gle/g7uVG9EZNAKBKvMa9. or email your response to ORDI@vt.edu.

3. Request for Library Recommendations
The Office of Recruitment, Diversity, and Inclusion would like to receive recommendations of books related to diversity, inclusion, and/or equity. Please submit your recommendations at https://forms.gle/dVVwzjwfgTcNtZeaA. For questions, email ordi@vt.edu.

4. Nominations Soon to Open for Graduate Student and Outstanding Mentor Awards
The Graduate School will soon start accepting nominations for graduate student awards. Faculty and/or academic departments and programs may submit nominations for outstanding theses and dissertations; excellence in teaching or service; graduate student of the year; and outstanding disciplinary students. In addition to these nominations, each college is asked to select its own outstanding master’s and doctoral student and outstanding mentor to be recognized by the Graduate School during Graduate Education Week 2021. Updates to nomination criteria, procedures and deadlines will be posted shortly at https://graduateschool.vt.edu/about/awards/student.html and https://graduateschool.vt.edu/about/awards/outstanding-mentor-award.html respectively.

5. New Course Offering: ALCE 5224 “Team Science, Cooperation, and Interdisciplinary Work”
(spring 2021, CRN 10282): Theoretical and conceptual basis for thinking about, guiding, and supporting team science and cooperative processes for interdisciplinary research, programming, and outreach. Current scholarship and concepts of individual and team readiness, effectiveness, protocols, training, and outcomes in team science and cooperative process contexts.
