7. COMMUNICATING ETHICS REQUIREMENTS TO YOUR STUDENTS
Please be sure to inform your graduate students about your department’s approved plan for satisfying the ethics requirement. Many graduate students have expressed interest in knowing the requirements of their departments. Any exceptions from your approved plan must be approved by the Vice President and Dean for Graduate Education.

8. FACULTY PANELISTS NEEDED FOR GRADUATE HONOR SYSTEM
The Graduate Honor System is seeking new faculty members to serve as panelists to review evidence and determine the outcome of GHS cases. Time commitment is about 3-4 hours a year based on the number of cases and availability to participate in scheduled hearings, in addition to a 30-45 minute training session. If you are interested in serving, contact GHS Chair Anurag Mantha (ghs@vt.edu), to set up a brief meeting to discuss the role. If multiple faculty volunteer from one department, a departmental training can be arranged as well.

9. GRADUATE STUDENT AMBASSADOR LEADERSHIP (GSAL) PROGRAM SEEKS PARTICIPANTS
The Graduate Student Ambassador Leadership (GSAL) Program is a leadership opportunity for graduate students who are dedicated to serving and representing Virginia Tech. Graduate ambassadors volunteer their time to assist with Graduate School orientation, providing campus tours, mentoring new graduate students in their department or college, and promoting the graduate student community. Ambassadors also serve as an important point of contact to graduate student applicants interested in their specific or similar affiliated department. To qualify, students must be currently enrolled as a graduate student at Virginia Tech; have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0; be able to make an academic year commitment (Fall-Spring semesters); demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills; and exhibit leadership, initiative, dependability, discipline, and enthusiasm. If you have students who qualify for this program, please encourage them to apply at  http://bit.ly/VT_GSAL. For information contact: Dr. Justin Grimes, Assistant Director Recruitment, Diversity, and Inclusion Email: jgrimes18@vt.edu.

10. MESSAGE TO ALL COORDINATORS REGARDING EMAILS TO GRADS@VT.EDU
When sending document(s) to the Graduate School for processing, please email the documents to grads@vt.edu only. Sending documents to multiple email addresses in addition to grads@vt.edu, as well as sending copies of the emailed document(s) in campus mail causes additional processing for the advisors because we are receiving duplicate copies. If you have questions regarding form submission to the Graduate School, please contact Misti Acosta at macosta@vt.edu.
