Deadlines & Dates to Remember
1. Inclusion and Diversity Requirement
November 30th, 2021
Please remember to finalize your program’s/department’s Inclusion and Diversity plan if it has not been submitted yet. All plans are due no later than Nov. 30th for review. This allows for the month of December to make requested revisions and receive approval by December 22nd. **All plans have to be approved this semester for full implementation across all graduate programs starting Spring 2022. 2. Edward Bouchet Honor Society Nomination Period Open
November 29th, 2021
The Edward Alexander Bouchet Graduate Honor Society (Bouchet Society) recognizes outstanding scholarly achievement and promotes diversity and excellence in doctoral education and the professoriate. We are seeking nominations for graduate students who are within 1-2 semesters of completing their doctoral degree. The nomination deadline is Nov. 29th. 1. GRE Waiver Information Request (Applications for Spring 2022 and Fall 2022)
The Office of Recruitment, Diversity, and Inclusion is completing a comprehensive list of programs that are waiving the GRE for the upcoming application season. The Graduate School has recently posted all Graduate Program Directors and Graduate Program Coordinators on our website. Please visit the below link to verify all contacts are correct and up to date. If any corrections need to be made, please email both gsdean@vt.edu and cathg14@vt.edu with the name of the department, old name to be replaced, and new contact name/email.

2. Fall 2021 Graduate School Commencement Ceremony
The fall 2021 Graduate School commencement ceremony is scheduled to be held in-person on Friday, December 17th at 2:30pm in Cassell Coliseum. All graduates wanting to participate should complete the Commencement Intentions form through their HokieSPA degree menu no later than December 1st. Doctoral students wanting to participate must meet the participation deadlines listed at https://graduateschool.vt.edu/academics/what-you-need-to-graduate/deadlines-for-academic-progress.html. There is no limit to the number of guests a graduate may invite to attend and the Graduate School ceremony will be live streamed on the University website as well. Additional information on the fall ceremony can be found online at https://vt.edu/commencement.html. Questions may be directed to Graduate Admissions and Academic Progress staff at grads@vt.edu.
