1. Disrupting Academic Bullying: A conversation to understand why and how
Thursday, October 21st 12:00 – 1:30 pm
This panel conversation provides the opportunity to come together as a community to develop a shared understanding of academic bullying. This will allow us the opportunity to identify the means to effectively disrupt it when it arises. The panel includes four members of the Virginia Tech community who contribute to efforts to raise awareness of this topic and work to support our community members so this issue does not interfere in our shared goals and commitments to developing a rigorous, yet harmonious community.

Deadlines & Dates to Remember
1. Accepting Nominations for Graduate Alumni Achievement Award
October 29th, 2021
The Graduate School is accepting nominations for the Graduate Alumni Achievement Award. This award recognizes outstanding national and/or international achievement and exemplary contributions by the winner to their profession, discipline, community or society. Nominees must be engaged in efforts that enhance the reputation of Virginia Tech to a national and/or international audience. Only alumni who have obtained a graduate degree from Virginia Tech are eligible. Submission deadline is October 29, 2021. 2. Inclusion and Diversity Requirement
November 30th, 2021
Please remember to finalize your program’s/department’s Inclusion and Diversity plan if it has not been submitted yet. All plans are due no later than Nov. 30th for review. This allows for the month of December to make requested revisions and receive approval by December 22nd. **All plans have to be approved this semester for full implementation across all graduate programs starting Spring 2022. 3. Edward Bouchet Honor Society Nomination Period Open
November 29th, 2021
The Edward Alexander Bouchet Graduate Honor Society (Bouchet Society) recognizes outstanding scholarly achievement and promotes diversity and excellence in doctoral education and the professoriate. We are seeking nominations for graduate students who are within 1-2 semesters of completing their doctoral degree. The nomination deadline is Nov. 29th. The Office of Recruitment, Diversity, and Inclusion is completing a comprehensive list of programs that are waiving the GRE for the upcoming application season.
